An internist is a doctor of internal medicine who specializes in adult medical care and non-surgical treatment of internal organs and functions of the body – a medical detective and diagnostician, personal physician, health counselor, educator and consultant. Internists are the major providers of continuing, comprehensive health care for adults and adolescents in the United States.
We do not treat children, but we do begin caring for adolescents at approximately age 13.
