LMH Earns Top Grade in Patient Safety

LMH Earns Top Grade in Patient Safety Licking Memorial Hospital (LMH) has earned a 13th consecutive “A” grade in the 2022 Fall Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade Listing.  Twice annually, the Leapfrog Group, an independent nonprofit organization focused on healthcare safety, assigns a letter grade to nearly 3,000 general hospitals in the United States based on how the hospital protects patients from preventable medical errors, accidents, injuries, and infections.

More than 30 national performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, a Leapfrog Hospital Survey, and information from other supplemental data sources are used to produce the single letter grade.  According to the data, LMH takes meaningful steps to raise awareness about patient safety, holds leadership accountable for reducing unsafe practices, provides resources to implement a patient safety program, and develops systems and structures to support action to improve patient safety.

“Our employees consistently demonstrate unwavering dedication to patients to achieve the highest standards of patient safety.  High expectations and a strict focus on our patients’ best interests lie at the heart of our mission to improve the health of the community,” Licking Memorial Health Systems President & CEO Rob Montagnese said.   “By making patient safety a top priority and implementing proactive measures, LMH has achieved an excellent patient safety record, and it is gratifying to be recognized by The Leapfrog Group.”
