Community Education: COPD

Join Registered Respiratory Therapist Kenneth Justice, R.R.T., RRT-NPS, RRT-ACCS, AE-C, for an  informative discussion on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, also known as COPD.

COPD refers to a group of conditions that obstruct airflow and cause breathing difficulties.  COPD includes
emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and in some cases, asthma.  According to the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention, almost 15.7 million Americans report a diagnosis of COPD.  Additionally, more than 50 percent of people with poor lung function may also have undiagnosed COPD.  Early detection and  treatment can often alter the course and progression of this potentially debilitating disease.

The program is free; however, registration is required.  To register, please call (220) 564-1560.
