Community Education: Healthier for Life Workshop Published: July 20, 2022

Weight loss organizations often promise significant results to participants who adhere to their plans or purchase their services. Diets and weight loss services frequently fail, leaving participants feeling discouraged, deprived, and still struggling to lose weight.

Patient Educator Meghan Rine, B.S.N., R.N., Dietitian Jen Hartman, R.D.N., and Physical Therapy Assistant Erika Wills, P.T.A., invite you to discover a different way to view weight loss. Sustained weight loss is often the result of positive change focused on health, not pounds ¬– a personalized lifestyle instead of a weight loss plan. Through this unique event, attendees will learn to successfully confront common stumbling blocks to exercise, grocery shopping and menu planning, motivation, unwanted eating behaviors, recipe modification, and more. Participants who complete the program will acquire practical guidelines for beginning a new, healthier lifestyle.

Healthier for Life is a four-class program and will be held on four consecutive Wednesday evenings, August 3, 10, 17, and 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the Licking Memorial Hospital First Floor Conference Rooms, located at 1320 West Main Street in Newark. Participants should plan to attend all four sessions. A meal will be provided for all participants. The program is free; however, space is limited and registration is required. To register, please call (220) 564-1560.
