The eighth annual Health & Fitness Fest, scheduled for Saturday, April 6, invites youth of all ages to participate in numerous healthy and fun activities over the course of the afternoon.  This free event, sponsored by the Licking County Family YMCA, Denison University and Licking Memorial Health Systems, will be held from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 p.m., at the YMCA Mitchell Center, 470 West Church Street in Newark.

Youth will visit various activity stations located throughout the YMCA including Zumba, Bubble Soccer, speed pitch, gymnastics, half-mile run, free throw shooting, an obstacle course, inflatables, face painting and balloons.  At each station, participants will collect achievement decals on their “FitTix” event cards upon completion of a health-related activity.  Those who complete a total of eight activities and health screenings at the event will be entered into a drawing for great fitness prizes.  Health screenings and information tables also will be available.  Youth must be accompanied by an adult. Healthy snacks and beverages will be provided.
