 Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) was recognized by Donate Life Ohio, the Ohio Hospital Association (OHA) and the Ohio Department of Health’s Second Chance Trust Fund for taking action to reduce that number during 2014. The hospital was named a Gold Partner in the Midsize Hospital category of the 2013-2014 Hospital Champions program, which aimed to increase or-gan, eye and tissue donor registration. LMHS was one of 46 Ohio hospitals recognized during the 2014 OHA Annual Meeting.

The Licking Memorial Hospital (LMH) blood bank earned re-accreditation in 2013 by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). The AABB assesses blood banks to ensure their quality and operational systems are in compliance with AABB standards, the Code of Federal Regulations and other federal guidelines.

2012 Echocardiography Lab Receives Renewed Accreditation from IAC 2012 Echocardiography Lab Receives Renewed Accreditation from IAC

The Licking Memorial Hospital (LMH) Echocardiography Lab was granted re-accreditation in 2012 in the area of Adult Transthoracic and Adult Stress Echocardiography by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).  The IAC reserves this three-year accreditation for facilities that provide quality patient care in compliance with national standards.  A panel of experts completed a thorough review of the LMH Echocardiography Lab’s operational and technical components before granting the re-accreditation.

In 2011, Licking Memorial Hospital’s Cardiology Department received accreditation as a Chest Pain Center with PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) from the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC).

Licking Memorial Hospital (LMH) was surveyed in 2011 by the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) Focused Task Force on Accreditation and awarded accreditation for four years as a provider of continuing medical education for physicians.  OSMA accreditation seeks to assure both physicians and the public that continuing education activities developed by LMH meet the high standards of the Essential Areas, Elements and Policies of accreditation as specified by the OSMA.  LMH’s continuing medical education program was originally certified in 1975, making it the first institution to be accredited in Ohio.
