Licking Memorial Hospital (LMH) takes great pride in providing excellent cardiovascular services to the community. We specialize in providing timely lifesaving techniques and the latest technology for patients with the risk of cardiovascular disease. Our outstanding relationship with the local emergency medical services (EMS) means our patients can expect rapid, exceptional care prior to reaching the Hospital. Our equipment and software allow medics to deliver an electrocardiogram (EKG) to the Emergency Department (ED) before the patient arrives.

Cardiac Services:
The Licking Memorial Cardiovascular team provides a full spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services performed by experienced cardiac nurses and cardiologists in a serene environment. The LMH Cardiac Imaging Lab is nationally accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories in echocardiography and adult stress echocardiography. Services provided include:

Mobile Cardiac Telemetry/Holter monitor
Cardiac stress testing
Nuclear cardiac stress testing - pharmacologic and exercise
Coronary computed tomography angiogram (CTA)

Electrocardiogram (EKG)
Tilt table testing
Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)
Cardioversion
Cardiac catheterization
2D/3D Echocardiogram 
Cardiac rehabilitation

LMH Heart Failure Clinic Services:
Staff consists of experienced cardiac nurses and pharmacists, with a cardiologist providing oversight. The team teaches patients how heart failure affects their bodies and how to recognize developing symptoms before they worsen and require hospitalization. Patients receive an array of tools to help them manage their condition, including:

  • Customized management plan
  • Calendar to record weight/symptoms
  • Bathroom scales
  • Educational resources
  • Sodium tracker chart
  • Pill boxes, if needed

Interventional Cardiac Services:
LMH is committed to providing treatment options for our patients with cardiovascular disease that decrease the need to travel outside the area for diagnosis and treatment. We offer a wide range of interventions such as coronary angioplasty and stenting including:

  • Coronary angiography
  • Coronary intervention
  • Stenting
  • Thrombolysis
  • Biventricular pacing for heart failure
  • Implantable Defibrillators
  • Pacemakers

Eesha Maiodna, MD, earned her medical degree from M.S. Ramaiah Medical College in Bangalore, India.  She completed an internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Ascension St. John Hospital in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan.  Dr. Maiodna is board certified in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and cardiovascular computed tomography.

Hassan Rajjoub, M.D., FACC, received his Doctor of Medicine Degree at Tichreen University, School of Medicine in Lattakia, Syria. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Chicago/Weiss Hospital. He completed a cardiology fellowship and an interventional cardiology fellowship at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis. He is fellowship trained in peripheral vascular disease intervention. Dr. Rajjoub is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology.

Fikadu G. Tekleyes, M.D., received his Doctor of Medicine degree at Addis Ababa University in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  He completed an internship at Addis Ababa University and a residency in internal medicine at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia.  He also completed a cardiovascular imaging and research fellowship at Piedmont Heart Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as a cardiovascular fellowship at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.  Dr. Tekleyes is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular computed tomography.

Donald A. Bowsher, APRN-CNP, received an Associates of Science in Nursing degree from Saint Mary’s School of Nursing at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, a Master of Science of Nursing (MSN) degree from the University of Phoenix, in Phoenix, Arizona, and a Family Nurse Practitioner post-MSN certificate from West Virginia University, in Morgantown, West Virginia.  He is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
